Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a self-made man. Following his service, he started in the mailroom of Illinois-California Express (ICX) trucking and worked his way up to Vice-President of Operations and quarter owner. He was born in Denver, Colorado and lived most his adult life in Lakewood, CO
Reading was his greatest hobby. He read anything he could get his hands on. He even read by the light of the refrigerator as a young man. Even when his eyesight had almost completely failed him, he slowly read 3 to 4 words at a time with special glasses. He spent a significant amount of time each day, patiently reading his daily devotion and scripture.
His beautiful wife of 69 years and 306 days was his true reason for living. His dedication to her was his purpose in life. Even in his last days, he hoped to celebrate their 70th anniversary together.
Harold was a man of unwavering Faith and immense knowledge. He was a man of great humor and wit, if you were lucky enough to pay attention.
Harold was a man of honor and loved this country.
Harold was a man who was ready to meet his maker. Hear God’s beautiful words, see His unending beauty.
Rest in His peace you dear wonderful Man.
