Harold Henry Wolf

January 18, 1928 — April 8, 2008

Harold H. Wolf – Harold died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 8th following a heart attack. At age 80, he was leading a full and active life, still an avid golfer and working part time. Harold is survived by his wife, Anita, age 81. Harold and Anita were married in 1948 and moved from Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Denver to begin their life together. They had 4 children, Dana, Andy, Mitch and Steve. Harold has 5 grandchildren (Jeff, Michael, Lauren, Baylee, and McKenna) and 2 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler. Harold was born in Nebraska in 1928 to Henry and Julia Wolf, who shortly thereafter moved their family to Ft. Morgan. Harold's Dad, Henry, died when Harold was 6 years old. His mother Julia, his sister, Helen, and two brothers, Bob and Clarence worked to keep the family together in hard times. Even without his father to show him the way, through life's lessons, Harold became a great father himself. Harold owned 20th Century Finishes and for 40 years his firm contributed to the commercial construction of schools, shopping centers, warehouses and large retail stores. After retiring, Harold soon began looking for something to do to keep him busy and took a part-time job with a publishing company in Denver. At the time of his death, he was actively working part time with Colorado Association Services, a community association management firm. As a high school student, Harold played both football and tennis. Tennis became a life long love for him. He was a founding member and served on the Board of Directors of the Terrace Swim and Tennis Club. After knee problems put a damper on the tennis activities, golf became his primary leisure activity. Further knee problems almost forced Harold to retire from golf as well, but three weeks after knee replacement surgery, he was back out on the course and continued to play until his death. Weekends, he could often be found playing golf, with son, Andy, and grandson, Mike. Lovingly called ""PO"" by his grandchildren, he always believed that the best in life came from the children. He believed that it was the children who kept life in balance, reminding us always of what was most important. Family dogs always knew they had a friend in ""Grandpa"" Harold. Brandi, Kodi, Harry, Sam, Alex, Buddy, Blue, and the newest addition, Cooper, were always treated with much affection and many treats when Harold was around. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a service to be held on Tuesday, April 15th. Dress for the service will be casual. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 16th, at the Golden Cemetery. Harold was clear that his death should be treated as a celebration, without sadness. While all of us will miss him tremendously, his positive influence and affect on our lives will remain with us and help us all to get through this difficult time.
