Harriette Elizabeth Mae McLuster Brown died at home on January 16, 2016 after suffering a major stroke. Harriette was born on August 5, 1931 in Denver, Colorado to William and Goldie McLuster. Her husband, James, died May 2009. They are survived by their children: Pamela (Eugene) Brooks, Paula Brown, J. Edwin Brown, E. Alan (Carla) Brown, Gerald (Barbara) Brown, Patricia Brown, Peggy Brown, Francis (Megan) Brown and David Brown. They are survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She leaves her siblings Rosemary (Cleophus) Marshall, Joseph (George) McLuster, Guffie Menogan and Robert (Shelia) McLuster; siblings-in-law Dorthis Christmas, Anna Mae Johnson, Hubert (Star) Brown, Calvin W. Brown, Geta Brown, as well as much loved nieces, nephews, godchildren, church family, friends and neighbors. Jim and Harriette were among the founding families of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Aurora, Colorado. Harriette was a registered nurse employed at Rose Medical Center and deeply involved in the community. She participated in many organizations and committees: church, Girl Scout cookie sales, Aurora Public Schools, Black Genealogy Study Group, Teen Tuesday group, and numerous others. A Rosary will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Funeral Home, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora Thursday, January 21st, at 7:00 p.m. The service will be held Friday, January 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Parish, 13670 E. 13th Place, Aurora CO US 80011.
