Harrison Burley

Harrison Frederick Burley, 94, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. Harrison was born in Woodward, Oklahoma to Alva and Ella Burley on October 23,1928. He was raised on a farm 6 miles south of Woodward where he developed his strong work ethic while farming with his dad. He graduated from Woodward high school where he participated in Golden Gloves boxing.  As a young man he moved to Colorado.

Harrison married Roberta Paine on July 20, 1957.  They spent most of their 62 years together in their home in Denver, Colorado.  They enjoyed traveling as a family throughout the United States, including a 6 week drive to Alaska in 1980. They had a summer home in Gunnison, Colorado for a few years. They attended Redeemer Temple together for many years and shared a strong faith in Jesus.

Harrison was a mechanic/welder and worked for Denver Public Schools for almost 30 years. He was the household and neighborhood handyman and could fix almost anything. He was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting. Fishing pictures and big game mounts decorated their home. He was the life of the party and enjoyed co-hosting many gatherings in his home for family and friends.

Harrison is survived by his children, Johnny (Charlie (d)), Judy (Bill), Ron (Phyllis), Jeannie (Chris) and his grandchildren Elizabeth, Gianna, Kristin (Brian), Jackie (Kevin), Jerri (Tim), Jan (Mike) and his great-grandchildren Skyler, Tanner, Madison, Grant, Charity, Colton, Bennet and Lyla. He is survived by his brother, Jack Burley, of Texas and his sister, Iris Heath, of Arizona. Harrison was also a beloved uncle and friend.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Private Burial will be at Byers Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be be held on February 4, 2023, 1:00pm at Redeemer Temple 3701 W. 64th Avenue, Arvada, CO  80003.
