Harry E. Roadman

December 20, 1925 — July 21, 2015

Harry Edward Roadman, PhD, M.A. Dr. Roadman, 89, passed away quietly at home in Lakewood, CO on July 21, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Norah, his daughters, Amy Martin, Beth Hynes (Patrick) and grandchildren, Ryan and Arron Hynes, Jason Martin and Amy Martin Nankervis. He had been valiantly struggling with many ailments, which his doctor termed ""an old jalopy wearing out"". Harry Roadman was born in Uniontown, PA on Dec 20, 1925. After graduating from Wilkinsburg High School, he served in the US Army and US Air Force in WII and as a Combat Intelligence Officer based in Okinawa during the Korean War. Following military service and as a graduate from Duquesne University with a B.A in psychology, he was awarded a scholarship an earned a Ph D in Industrial Psychology from the University of Minnesota. As a career officer he then went to the newly founded US Air Force Academy to design and implement teamwork leadership concept and practices in the USAF cadet curriculum. Then Dr. Roadman joined the IBM Corporation where for ten years he rose through successive senior positions. After leaving IBM, he had long and successful career with his own business in Executive and Management consulting, mostly in Southern California. He moved to Bandon, Oregon in his later years and his last 2 years were spent in Lakewood, with his daughters and their families. Harry was an activist for war veterans assistance programs. He had over twenty years of Spanish language studies and was a lover of rock and country music and watching professional boxing on TV. He loved the Rocky Mountains, California and Oregon beaches and was an avid fisherman. He was a gentleman until the end and had a mind much younger than his years. He was loved by his family and will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org
