Harry Lee Schraeder

Born in Leadville, September 1, 1920, second-generation Colorado native. Miner, decorated WWII veteran, and 25 year career on the Denver Police Department highlighted by the start of the Police Athletic League with William Wiley. Survived by wife, Eleanor, married 59 years; sister Catherine Hershey; 5 children, Richard, Michael, Gary, Janet, & Steve; 7 grandchildren, Sean, Brett, Eric, Amie, Ross, Ben, & Tyler; 4 great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass 12:30 Friday, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Porter Hospice-Johnson Center, 5020 E. Arapahoe Rd, Centennial 80122. Harry was a moral compass for us all.
