Harry Seese, age 84, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on March 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 9, 1939, in Pennsylvania to Ella Mae and Harry Seese.
Harry moved with his family to Kansas City as a teenager and graduated from Westport High School. After 2 years studying chemistry at the local community college he enlisted in the US Army where he earned the sharpshooter rifle and good conduct medal. He was deployed to Korea where he monitored and intercepted radio communications.
Harry had a successful career as a business owner, managing several full-service stations and owning and operating a Dairy Queen. He was also a passionate collector and seller of rare coins. He touched the lives of many as a soccer coach and dedicated kid chauffeur. A man of many talents, Harry enjoyed stained glass artistry and is known for his love of “creative cooking.”
He married Mary Jane Graham, on July 29, 1972, in Denver, Colorado. Harry was a devoted husband to Mary Jane and a beloved father to his daughters Amie, Beth and Kathleen. Harry's life was filled with love and joy, and his legacy will continue to live on through his wife, daughters, and granddaughters Cloè and Lillian. He is also survived by his brothers Dennis, Howard, and Albert, as well as his sisters Margaret, Susan, Ella Mae, Linda, and Christine.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John.
Harry was an active member of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church, serving in the choir and on the vestry as Junior Warden. He was also active with volunteer work such as God’s Gardeners, the Saint Claire Supper and the Ronald McDonald house.
Harry loved being around others and was usually found with kids or dogs trailing behind him everywhere he went.
His warm and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Harry's life will be held on March 23, 2024 at 1 pm, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1 Del Mar Circle, Aurora, CO 80011. Reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Stephen's for a stained glass window, a fitting tribute to Harry's passion for stained glass art.
Harry Seese leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. May his memory be a blessing to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
