Harry Peter (Bob) Souvall, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend died peacefully on May 25, 2008, of multiple organ failure. His quick wit, humor, optimism and desire to comfort his loved ones during the last few years was a fitting final chapter to his incredible life story. In the words of his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra, ""I did it my way."" Bob Souvall was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 29, 1932, to Peter Andrew Souvall and Elizabeth Demas Souvall, both Greek immigrants who to came to the United States in their teens. He graduated from East High School in 1949 and attended the University of Utah for a short period of time where he studied business and anthropology. He also became a life long fan of University of Utah athletics. He joined the United States Air Force and served a tour of duty in the Korean War. Shortly after returning from Korea to Salt Lake City, he met his lifelong love, Marianne Paloukos. Bob and Marianne were married at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox church in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 8, 1955. Bob worked for years at Souvall Brothers in Salt Lake before starting his own manufacturer's representative business with his brother Andy and brother-in-law Dan Papilion. SPS, Incorporated prospered for over forty years representing Sharp Electronics. Bob's favorite pass times included watching the Utah Jazz and Colorado Rockies, golfing with the boys and trips to Las Vegas. He also was a life long member of the Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the Church Board and volunteering for numerous Greek Festivals. In addition to his loving wife Marianne, Bob is survived by his children Pete (Brenda) Souvall, Dave Souvall, Dianne (Jim) Brown, all of Denver and Harry (Staci) Souvall of Greeley. He is also survived by his grandchildren to Zachary, Nick, Georgeanna and Peter Souvall, Alex and Nicholas Lammle, and Mati and Josh Brown, all of whose pictures can be found throughout the Souvall house. His greatest regret is that his health prevented him from spending more time traveling with and attending his grand children's sporting events and other activities. Bob is also survived by his sister Faye Papilion of Denver and sister-in-law Connie (Bob) McLeese of Spokane, Washington, and nephews and nieces who have been so kind and supportive throughout his life and recent illness, as well as numerous extended relatives and friends. Bob was both a friend and surrogate father figure to many of his children's friends. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother Andy, sister Alice Papanikolas, brothers-in law Danny Papilion and George Papanikolas, father and mother-in-law, Harry and Helen Paloukos, all of whom are now rejoicing in their reunion. There will be a Trisagion Wednesday May 28, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. (at S. Parker Road) at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 1:30 pm at the St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 5555 S. Yosemite Street . Internment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. As a partial way to express our gratitude to Fathers Lou, Paul and Evan for their years of support, counsel and visits to the hospital and home during Bob's illness, the family asks that donations be made to St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church in lieu of flowers. May his memory be eternal.
