Harvey Lee Morgheim

Harvey Lee Morgheim was born January 30, 1934 to Fred and Herminia (Erhlich) Morgheim in Lyman, NE. He was the third child of a family of eight children. He and his oldest brother shared the same birthday of January 30. Harvey attended Huntley Schools in Huntley, WY. He enlisted in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, serving most of his time in Germany. He farmed briefly with his father and worked various jobs in Wyoming before moving to Denver in 1957. He began his employment with the Martin Company in their reproduction department, which determined his life long career in printing. He worked for the Denver Public Library, Ball Brothers Research, and Ridgeways before opening his own print and blueprint shop in June of 1983 in Englewood, CO. Although his offset printing and blueprinting shop changed to computerized large scale scanning and printing, Harvey continued to manage his shop for 27 years until his health was declining. Harvey fought a difficult battle with emphysema for the last years. On March 27, 1965, Harvey married Carolyn Lueck at Brule, NE. They lived in the Northglenn, CO area for the first years in their marriage, moving to their current home in Littleton, CO in May 1976. To this union two sons were born. Harvey enjoyed restoring classic cars over the years and enjoyed many years of car shows with his 60 Ford Starliner and 65 Malibu Convertible. He also enjoyed working in his yard and remodeling in his home. Harvey was a member of St. Philips Lutheran Church in Littleton, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws; one brother, Gene; and two sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Littleton, CO; 2 sons, Shad (Tamara) Morgheim of Springhill, TN, and Shawn (Traci) Morgheim of Chula Vista, CA, 7 grandchildren, Joshua (17), Quinlan (14), Brianna (13), Hailey (10), Aiden (8), Noah (7), and Ashton (5). Four sisters, Verna Wiegel of Morrill, NE; Dorothy (Ron) Buchhammer, Sharon (Larry) Nighswonger of Torrington, WY; and Linda (Jay) Smith of St. George, UT. Two brothers, Kenneth of Torrington, WY and Fred (Charlie) of Castle Rock, CO; one brother-in-law, Don (Julie) Lueck of Lemoyne, NE along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19, 2012, 4:00-6:00 PM, Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 20, 2012, 12:30 PM, St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7531 South Kendall Blvd. Interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
