Hattie Mary Lucas

Hattie Mary Lucas, 98, of Lakewood passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008. She was born on July 6, 1910 in Macon County, MO. She married Edwin J. Lucas (Dec.) on May 11, 1934 and they both worked for Gates Rubber Company. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Lodge #97 and a life long member of the Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for 20 years. She was a Member of Green Mountain Christian Church at the time of her passing. Hattie enjoyed the mountains, camping and fishing. The highlight of her life was her retirement trip to Israel in 1980. She is survived by her loving sister, Vernice Knudson of Loveland, four nieces and one nephew, and many longtime friends including, Irene and Talmage Pace, Joy Balding, Ruth Weiderman, Albert and George Kidney. She is preceded in death by her brother, Milford Fox. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, 80227. A Service will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Green Mountain Christian Church, 10700 W.
