Hazel M. Roch

Hazel M. Roch of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on August 15, 2019 at the age of 91. Hazel was born and educated in Chicago, Illinois. She was a graduate of the Oak Park Hospital School of Nursing and attended Loyola University and the University of Chicago. She did graduate work at The Chicago Lying-In Hospital. She served with CARE-Medico for one year in Algeria, North Africa and for one year in Honduras, Central America. She was retired from Lutheran Medical Center in 1990 after 20 years with the Nursing Department.

The activities in which Hazel was especially interested in were reading, travel, photography, gardening, fishing and golf.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret Balck, three nephews and very dear friend, Nell Stockton.

Hazel is survived by her sister, Patricia McLaughlin; niece, Teresa McLaughlin and great-nieces, Tiffany Delpriore and Christine Ryan, all of Chicago and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019, 11a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1985 Miller Street, Lakewood, Colorado. Private burial will be in Chicago.

Donations may be made in Hazel’s memory to either the Susan G. Komen Colorado Foundation or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
