Heather Beckwith

May 15, 1957 — July 5, 2024

Heather Lund Beckwith, extraordinary mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend and confidant, passed away from lung cancer at age 67. Our hearts are heavy with her loss.

Born to Jane and Gerald Lund in Minnesota, she was the second of three children. She went on to study Finance and Foresting at Colorado State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. In 1983, she went to work as a Flight Attendant for a major airline and stayed with them for 40 years.  Her adventurous spirit took her to many fascinating places, including Jordan, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and many European countries. Her favorite place to travel to was Hawaii.

After graduating, she remained in Colorado where she met her future husband, Bob Beckwith. On October 18, 1995, her daughter Alexa Louise Beckwith was born and remained the central focus of her life. Heather exemplified the meaning of "working hard.: She had an amazing work ethic yet always found the time to support her daughter's budding talent for diving and its rigorous competitive nature, rarely missing her diving meets.

Heather is survived by her daughter Alexa, of Grand Lake, Colorado, her Mother Jane Lund, IL, Bob Beckwith (ex-husband), Denver CO, Brother Jeff Lund and Sister-in-Law Sue, MN, Younger Sister Heidi Fisher and Brother-in-Law Bruce, IL, Nieces Katie and Abby, Grand nieces, Addison and Emma, Nephews Scott, Corey, Chris, and Jamie. There are many cousins and close friends including her airline family who also are grieving the passing of Heather's truly beautiful and loving soul which is now resting peacefully with God.

Alexa shares the following tribute to her Mom:

"My Mom's fortitude and the way she carried herself through the last few years was astounding, especially considering how many obstacles were put in her path.

All the way through the end, her spirits remained high and her attitude positive. Despite the pain, I can hardly remember a time when she complained. She was independent and so very strong. She wanted to stay here for me and all the people she loved.

She kept saying she "had so much left to do" but I know she'll be doing big things up in the sky.

She was caring, funny, organized and above all a great friend and mother. Heahter was incredibly thoughtful, always remembering her family and friends special occasions, sending along the perfect card. Every gift she gave was filled with loving intention to those who were on the receiving end She was and will always be one of my biggest advocates and I hope that I remind people of her. I'm so grateful for the extra time we spent together these last few years and how that brought us even closer.

Mom, you may not be physically here any longer, yet everything reminds me of you. I'll miss you for the rest of my life. Rest easy, Heather Lund."

We deeply miss you, dear Heather, we are so grateful for the time we all were able to share with you. We will love you always.
