Helen Marie Van Antwerp

Helen Marie Van Antwerp died peacefully at The Suites at Clermont Park in Denver, Colorado on May 24, 2020.

Helen is survived by her two nephews Garet Hickman and Paul Hickman and her niece Ray Douglass. She will be dearly missed by her grand-nephews Travis Douglass and Cole Douglass as well as her grand-nieces Sydney Hickman, Grace Hickman, Vivian Hickman and Veronica Hickman.

Helen was preceded in death by her father Paul Thoma Van Antwerp, mother Irene Montgomery Van Antwerp and sister Dorthy Van Antwerp Hickman.

Helen was born on May 2, 1939 in Denver, Colorado to Paul and Irene Van Antwerp. She graduated East High School in Denver and then went on to graduate from University of Denver in 1961 later earning her masters degree in Early Childhood education.

Helen began her teaching career in Cheyenne Wyoming then went on to teach in Denver Public Schools yet spent the majority of her teaching career in Cherry Creek Public School system teaching third grade.

A small internment ceremony will be held on Thursday May 28, 2020 for family only due tho the circumstances of COVID-19. There will be a celebration of life later this year. Condolences can be sent to 8808 Goosander Way Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.
