Helen Therese Basile

Helen was born in Minnesota and moved to Colorado with her sister Louise in 1945, where she later got a job at Northwestern National Life Insurance Company. She and Louise enjoyed going to Dance Halls, and it was at the Rainbow Ballroom where she met Sam Basile. Sam and Helen were married on June 23, 1951 at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church. They had 9 children. Sam passed away in 1977. Helen was a dedicated wife and mother. She helped run a family owned business, while raising 9 kids, attending as many of their many athletic events as possible, bowling every Tuesday and playing bingo every Thursday. She loved all Colorado sports teams, and attended CU Buffaloes football games as well as being an original Denver Broncos season ticket holder. She was still attending Broncos and Rockies games into her 80's. If she wasn't watching sports, be it professional or her children's, she was found at the casinos playing video poker.

When the grandchildren started arriving, she could be found at their various activities, always supporting them and cheering them on.

Helen is survived by her children, Samuel (Jan), Peter (Pam), Linda, MaryLou (Ron), Rosemary (Kenny), Rocky, Dino (Tammy), Anne (Cris), and Gina. Her grandchildren, Mandi, Jayce, Derek (Kelsey), Garrett (Stephanie), Trent, Kati, Dalton, Brooke, Joel, Jennifer, Heidi and Joy; and her great-grandchildren, Emelia, Brentley, Luca, Alejandro, Javier, Olive, Julia plus 2 new arrivals in late 2020. She is also survived by her siblings, Louise Wilson (Don, Scott, Laureen, Courtney, Karla, Spencer, Sophie and Peri), and Mary Hart.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents Lorenz and Anna; and her siblings, Elizabeth, Florence, Ann, Lawerence, Margaret and Paul.

She was a remarkable woman who was cherished and loved. She will be dearly missed.
