Helen Anna Bushart, 92, formerly of Liberal, Kansas, passed away May 17, 2009 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born October 16, 1916, in Selden, Kansas, a daughter of Herman Nicholas and Wilhelmina Anna Duesberg Moheng. Helen met her husband, L.M. Bushart in Goodland, Kansas. They were married in Goodland on June 7, 1938. Their early years of marriage were in Burlington, Colorado and then in 1945, they moved to Liberal, Kansas where they owned and operated Bushart Real Estate and Insurance. Helen was primarily a homemaker, but occasionally helped her husband in the office. Later she opened and operated the first Hallmark Card and Gift shop (LaCarta), in downtown Liberal. In Liberal, she was active in St. Anthony's Catholic Church and St. Anthony's Altar Society, Beta Sigma Phi, and various other volunteer and social organizations. Helen was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was also a fabulous cook. She will be remembered by many for her warm smile. She was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Helen is survived by her four children: Sandra (Mike) McCann, of Littleton, CO; Lowell (Linda) Bushart, of Glenwood Springs, CO; Yvonne (Stanley) Nipple, of Liberal, KS; and Marita (Kreg) Kovalik, of Portland, OR. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Sean (Renee) McCann; Michele (Keith) Olson; Cynamin (Jim) VanLue, Era Morris, Tiffany Bushart, Matthew Bushart, Jon Kleiner, Kimberley (Chris) Lambert, Scott Kovalik, and Kayla Kovalik; fourteen great-grandchildren: Liam, Carrick, and Meagan McCann; Hayley, Hunter, and Connor Olson; Austin, Chandler, and Evan VanLue; Olivia and Stephen Morris; and Kyle, Cody, and Kaitlyn Lambert. Helen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ellamae Moheng, of Wakeeney KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. M. Bushart; and siblings, Alvera Hemrich, Clarence Moheng, Elaine Beye, and Marvin Moheng. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, May 26th, 6:30 p.m., at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 27th, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 South Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO. A private Interment will be on Friday, May 29th, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Liberal, Kansas.
