August 19, 2005 — August 19, 2005

Helen Gladys Carlson was born July 25, 1924 in Platteville, Colorado to John and Katherine Zeiler. She became a child of God through the sacrament of holy baptism at Zion Lutheran Church, Brighton, CO, in 1924, and she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1938, at Zion, as well. She was received into Emmaus Lutheran Church by transfer of membership in 1963. She and her husband, Fred, were married at Emmaus May 29, 1964. Family was everything to Helen. Her life revolved around her family, and she was always there and doing something for them. Helen was a true Samaritan, always there for anyone in need. When not involved with her family, she enjoyed watching baseball, rooting for the Broncos, and watching her soap opera. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carlson. She is survived by five sisters: Margaret Morris; Mildred (Harley) Thaden; Ruth Jorgens; Shirley Antill; Beverly Wagner, one brother, Robert (Nance) Zeiler; five children: Marilyn (Merlin) Baldwin, Rod (Chris) Carlson, Jane Bustamante, Cynthia (Alan) Sentel, and Spencer (Denise) Carlson; and her grandchildren: Robert (Tammi) Baldwin, Robin (Steve) Bredl, John Carlson, Gina Martinez, Amanda (Hap) Legg, Gabriel (Kristina) Bustamante, Andrew Bustamante, Nicolas Sentel, Kristofor Sentel, Taylor Carlson, and Cody Carlson; 11 great grandchildren: Savana Baldwin; Karran, Tyler, and Nathan Bradl, Elizabeth Fred, Katie Martin, Cheyenne Martinez, Lakai, Rece, and Ella Legg, and Justice McCormick; and many other family members. Helen's confirmation verse: Romans 8:39: "...nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Memorials suggested to Emmaus Scholarship Fund, 3120 Irving St., Denver, Colo. 80211
