Helen Garamella

On Thursday, April 12, 2012, Helen Garcia Garamella, age ninety, passed away. She leaves behind her husband of sixty-five years, Michael A. Garamella, their four children and their respective families, Margaret ""Margie"" Holcomb, Nicolette ""Nikki"" Anderson, Robert Garamella, and Michelle ""Shelly"" McCoy. In addition, she had nine grandchildren, Paul, Matthew, Michael, Ashley, Mari, Zach, Terry, Lucas & Nick; as well as five great grandchildren. Helen was very loved and passed on Thursday surrounded by her family. Mike and Helen met in 1946 at Fitzsimons Hospital. He had been sent home from Nazi-occupied Germany with a case of Tuberculosis, and was sent to Fitzsimons Hospital where Helen worked at the time. A year later, they were engaged and have been together in Denver ever since. Helen will be missed by her family, her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and her husband.
