Helen F. Hamilton

Helen F. Hamilton passed away peacefully in Englewood, Colorado on March 21, 2025 at the age of 90 years old.

Helen is survived by her daughter Cindy Hamilton of Littleton, Colorado; granddaughters Haleh Torbaghan and significant other Sam of Edgewater, CO, Jennifer Torbaghan and husband Matt; great-grandson Joshua of Rio Rancho, NM.

Helen was born July 19th, 1934, in Derby Connecticut to Maud Kuhn and Sheldon Brownson. Helen had 3 brothers. During her childhood, Helen was very active in Girl Scouts and 4H. To this day, Helen still talks about the time she received a 1st place ribbon for vegetable judging in the Connecticut State Fair. She also loved riding her bike. Helen graduated from Shelton High in 1952. Later that year, her Air Force journey began with basic training in San Antonio. Throughout her military career, she was stationed at multiple bases, most notably Fort Myer where she was assigned to the Pentagon and met the love of her life Robert Hamilton. Helen married Robert Hamilton in Fort Myer, Virginia on October 11th, 1957. Helen and Robert were married for over 64 years and had one daughter.

After 20 years in the military, Robert and Helen returned to Littleton, Colorado to be close to Helen's parents. Helen worked as a checker at Safeway from where she retired. After she retired, Helen continued to stay busy by working in the nursery at St. Andrews and the local school cafeteria. Helen also volunteered with Robert at Littleton Public Schools.

Throughout Helen's life, she enjoyed hobbies which included vacations, bowling, golf, baking and spending time with friends and family. Anybody who knew Helen, knows that a significant joy in her life was helping to raise granddaughters. Helen's pizelles and brownies are known for being some of the best.

Those who knew Helen will remember her for her love and dedication to her family and friends.
