Helen Josephine Hipp (Aunt Jo), a long-time resident of Ellijay, GA and Albuquerque, NM died peacefully Sunday April 2, in Parker, Colorado at age 96 surrounded by loving family. Josephine was born in 1920, in Ellijay, GA and was the youngest of five sisters. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Lenor Rhyne and went on to impact many 1st graders' lives as a school teacher in both Gilmer County, Ellijay, GA and Bernalillo County, Albuquerque, NM. Jo was a fan of the arts. She loved attending performing arts events, including the Santa Fe Opera, and she was an accomplished artist and piano player. She loved golf, bridge, traveling and socializing, and had an illuminating smile and a wink that could light up a room. She was the matriarch of our family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by two nieces, Ginia Coors of Denver, CO and Martha Brame of Rockville, MD, and three nephews, David Arp of Great Falls, VA, Tom Warlick and Joe Killian of Newton, NC., eleven grandnieces and nephews and twenty-three great-grandnieces and nephews. The Logan Funeral Home in Ellijay, GA has been entrusted with arrangements. The service will be at Logan Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, April 8th at 2 pm with the Rev. James Holt officiating. Following the service, ""Aunt Jo"" will be laid to rest in the Ellijay Cemetery.
