Helen F. Kuegeman

HELEN F. (RIVAS) KUEGEMAN passed away on January 3, 2017; she was 85 years old. Beautiful, Fun-Loving, Supportive Mother to Alicia, Gloria, Anna (deceased), Nick and Suzanne Avila and Sherry and Kevin Arroyo. She is survived by 2 Brothers, Jim (Janet) Rivas and Ruben (Virginia-deceased) Rivas and Sister-in-law Dolores (Eddie-deceased) Rivas. Helen is the grandmother of 18 and Great-grandmother of 18. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews with whom she always enjoyed sharing a good laugh, as well as many cousins and family members in Farmington, New Mexico. Helen was born in Tiffany, Colorado. Her parents were Louis R. Rivas and Elena (Serrano) Rivas. As a child she lived in Durango and Ignacio, CO . She moved to Denver in 1946 and attended West High School. She married Nicanor Avila, Jr. in 1950 with whom she had 5 children. In 1965, she married Bruce Arroyo and had 2 children. She later married The Love of Her Life, Stanley Kuegeman, in 1979. Helen was a remarkable homemaker and loved to care for, cook for, and comfort her children, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved wholeheartedly. She was a Happy, Outgoing person who loved music, dancing, socializing and making others feel important and happy. Helen never lacked in a desire to Enjoy Life, Travel and she was always dressed impeccably. She made a Sweet and Caring impact on everyone who met her as she flashed that Charismatic, Regal Smile.
