Helen Catherine Sommer

Helen (Sip) Sommer, 92, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Clermont Park in Denver, CO. Helen was born December 12, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked in the banking industry for twenty-nine years, retiring at age 75 and was a long time Denver Broncos fan. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Sommer and grandson Michael C. Irons. She is survived by six children: Linda and husband Mike Irons, Cathi Sommer, Debbie Sommer and close friend Clem Provatakis, Tom Sommer, Nancy Sommer, Sandie and husband Steve Masters, six grandchildren: Shaylyn and husband Tom Rusch, David and wife Caytea Irons, Daniel and wife Ashley Sommer, Jason and wife Cameo Irons, Jeremy Irons, Gary and wife Kelly Sommer, and sixteen great grandchildren: Tommie Rusch, Dylan Rusch, Matthew Rusch, Owen Irons, Eliana Irons, Opal Irons, Emeric Irons, Omri Irons, Escher Irons, Nadia Sommer, Danika Sommer, Chase Sommer, Cayden Sommer, Zander Sommer, Aimlee Irons and Evan Irons.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 11 at 11:00 AM (preceded by viewing at 10:00 AM) – Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014 (Parker Road & Dartmouth Ave)

A reception celebrating her life will follow from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at the same location.

Interment afterward (approx. 2:00 PM) at Hampden Memorial Gardens, 8600 E Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231
