Helen was a Colorado Native born on April 4, 1946 in Denver to the late Hipolito and Mary Esquibel. Her life was fulfilled by her love for her family, and their love for her. Helen was known as ""The Colonel"" by those who loved her most because she was incredibly strong, honest, generous, and funny. She passed away gracefully on October 25, 2018 in the care and presence of her legacy...her family.
Helen is survived by her children, Monica Robinson, Michelle Gonzalez, Melissa (Ben) Wilbourn, Bobby (Lindsey) Thomas, and Jannell Thomas; her grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Mendenhall, Jamaul Thomas, Kileen Robinson, Jordan Wilbourn, Sydni Gonzalez, Jamison Gonzalez, Jalen Thomas, Jaxon Wilbourn, Keteyia Thomas, and Jerasiah Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Courtney Mendenhall and Logan Mendenhall; her siblings, Sadie (Robert) Medina, Viola (Louis) Vigil, Virginia (Lee) Brandon, Herman (Sherri) Esquibel, Beatrice (Ron) Evans, Antonio (Lala) Esquibel, Joseph (Jean) Esquibel, Betty Esquibel, Linda Esquibel, Susan (Jerry) DeHerrera, and Paul Esquibel. Helen is also survived by an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert âBig Bobâ Thomas. She and Big Bob shared a truly amazing life together. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Wilson.
There will be a service to celebrate Helen's life on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Horan & McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado.
