Helene Louise Erhart

Helene Louise Von Steuben McMillan Erhart, age 82, died in Castle Rock, Colorado on August 4, 2019. She died peacefully in her sleep.
Born November 4, 1936 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she was raised in Bethlehem. As a young lady she found her love of music where she became a classically trained pianist and vocalist. She was a graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She married Robert L. McMillan Sr., and raised her four sons in Fairborn, Ohio. She dedicated her life to teaching music with the Fairborn Baker High School Choraliers. As a Master Pianist, Helene taught both piano and vocal lessons privately from her home.
Helene moved to Castle Rock, Colorado in 1985 with her second husband, LT. COL Robert J. Erhart. She was a member of St. Philip-in-the-Field Episcopal Church (Sedalia), Castle Rock Senior Center, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), American Association of University Women, and Douglas/Elbert Music Teacher Association (DEMTA). She was named Outstanding Young Woman in 1968.
She is survived by her sons David and Daniel (Jenny) McMillan and stepchildren Nancy Berry (Randy), David Erhart (Susan), George Erhart (Diana), 17 grandchildren, and 4 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Robert L. McMillan Jr, Scott V.S. McMillan, and husband of 28 years, LT. COL. Robert J. Erhart, USAF Ret.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Philip-in-the-Field Episcopal Church.
