Henry John Castor, 84 years of age, died at his home of 60 years in Denver, Colorado on November 2, 2019 with his loving wife and children at his side. The cause of death was prostate cancer, which John fought valiantly for over 4 years.
John was born May 22, 1935 in Wray, Colorado. He also lived in Woodburn, Oregon in his youth. John married Neva Clarel Probasco on May 15, 1955 in Eckley, Colorado. They then moved to Denver where he worked for the Public Service Company of Colorado for 39 years as a lineman, troubleshooter, dispatcher and supervisor. He retired in 1994 after a long and distinguished career. John was a member of the Thornton United Presbyterian Church for 55 years until its closing in 2015, and then became a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

John was a loving family man of outstanding character. He was self-reliant, hard working, honest, kind and caring, and used these qualities to provide well for his family. He loved each and every member of his family unconditionally, and enjoyed spending time with all of them. He was a devoted Christian, and regularly attended church services.
He also enjoyed traveling. While raising his family, he took his children on many camping trips and vacations in their truck and camper, trips which his children remember fondly. In retirement, John traveled extensively in his RV. He particularly enjoyed attending the many family reunions that he and his siblings arranged over a 30 year period in various locations throughout the western US.
John was a loyal fan of his beloved Denver Broncos for 60 years, since their inaugural season in 1960. He recorded many of their games on videotape over the years, and would often rewatch and analyze game highlights. He enjoyed watching movies from his extensive DVD collection, and was a big John Wayne fan. He also enjoyed listening to music, and instilled his love of music in his children.
