Henry John âHankâ Dire, 84, died from renal failure June 4. Beloved husband, father, brother and friend, he was the second-generation owner of the Bonnie Brae Tavern. Born in 1927, he lived in Denver all his life except for his service in the Korean War between 1951-52. Mr. Dire graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in business. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; a son, Rick; a daughter, Angela; two grandchildren, Henry and Julia; and his brother, Mike.
A Holy Rosary will be said for Mr. Dire at 6 p.m. Saturday at Horan and McConaty. His funeral is 10 a.m. Monday at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2250 S. Harrison St. in Denver. Internment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
