Henry Edward Meisner (Hank) of Aurora, CO passed away on December 9, 2024, after a long battle with heart issues. His adult life experiences could be summarized as featuring a true love story with his wife Jane, who passed in October and only months after they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hank is survived by his son Mark Meisner and his ex-spouse Stephanie Meisner and their children (Catherine, Taylor, Loghan & Madelyn) and his daughter Sandy Gevero and her husband Arnold. Hank is also survived by his sister Katherine Ogan (87) and her children (Dean and Ken).
Hank’s childhood until college was spent in the NYC suburb of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. Hank was the perfect child, obedient, nice to all and very smart, which his sibling really did not appreciate in comparison.
Hank first met Jane in 1961 on a bus ride to work. He asked Jane out a few times with no success but by the third request she finally said yes. They had an amazing summer together but there was only one problem; Jane was going back to college, and he was going to Germany to serve in the Army. After a long-distance relationship that lasted a few years upon Hank’s return from Germany, Jane asked him to her College senior dance and the rest is history.
Hank graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1961 and began his career as an insurance adjuster. Hank had a passion for politics, and he became a lobbyist for Blue Cross Blue Shield until he retired in 1995.
