Henry Price Snellgrove Jr., beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 90, surrounded by his family.
Henry “Hank” was born in Denver, CO on October 15, 1931. He attended Denver South High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Thurston. They were married for 67 years and raised four children in Denver. He was a passionate and devoted family man, and he loved his dogs.
The early years Henry worked for the City and County of Denver. He attended Colorado School of Mines and began a long and successful career of 32 years with the Union Pacific Railroad as a Public Project Engineer.
Henry served in The United States Army during the Korean War from March 24, 1951 to December 23, 1952. He was transferred to the Army Reserve on December 24, 1952, and was honorably discharged on November 6, 1956. He was an active member of Harmony Masonic Lodge where he served as Worshipful Master in 1973. He especially enjoyed his time spent in Fairplay, Colorado at the family cabin he built beginning in the late 1960s.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Rae Snellgrove, parents Henry Price Snellgrove Sr. and Alta Elizabeth Gay and siblings James “Larry” Snellgrove and Shirley Ann Metherd.
Henry is survived by his children and grandchildren: Collette Hall (William), Jay Snellgrove (Mary), Bonnie Jouard (Stephen), Bryce Snellgrove (Marsha), Halie, Hannah, Brandi, Tristan, Etienne, Calvin, Trey, and Regan.
Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 19, 2022 at
Horan & McConaty Family Chapel
1091 South Colorado Boulevard
Denver, Colorado
Henry will be laid to rest with military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
