Henry "Neil" Harmon

Henry "Neil" Harmon quietly passed in his sleep on July 28, 2021 in Littleton, CO.

This southern gentleman from Sumter, S.C. is survived by his five children; Dawn, Mark, Laura, Mary, and Teddi, his 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Born February 16, 1930 to Clint and Mary Harmon with little brother, Theodore "Ted or Teddy" Harmon to follow shortly, or as Neil so fondly referred to him as "Bubba".

After finishing high school, Neil enlisted in the United States Air Force and quickly became one of the leaders in his Flight. Soon after, he met the love of his life and best friend, Shirley Ruth Schaffroth from Kearney, NE where they started their family.

Neil had a very prominent career as a Thermal Physicist first with Boeing, and retiring from Martin Marietta. He was well respected by his peers, and even worked on the successful return of Apollo 13.

Even though from humble beginnings, Neil worked hard to always provide for his loving wife and children. He was a very likable man who was smart, witty, and always there to listen or give advice.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 18th at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227.  The viewing will start at 11am followed by his service at 11:30, Neil and Shirley will be laid to rest together at Ft. Logan cemetery.

He will be missed.
