After 98 pretty darned good years, followed by 8 pretty darned awful months, Herb Frick succumbed to numerous illnesses on October 30, 2024. Not a bad run for someone who once said he was so sickly as a child that he was certain he wouldn't live past the age of 30! He led a full life that included growing up on a farm in Ohio during the Great Depression, a stint as a navigator on a B-24 bomber in the Army Air Force during World War II, two marriages (the first produced a son, John, and the second added four wonderful stepdaughters and their spouses and children to the family), a career as a geophysicist, and much traveling the world over. His life was filled with family, friends, and activity. We all should be so lucky.
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Berkley Hospice and to Home Helpers. They provided the care and services that allowed my father to fulfill his wish of passing away peacefully at home.
