Herbert Joseph Lisowski

Herbert Joseph Lisowski went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2008. He was born in Middletown, NJ on November 19, 1928 to Michael and Amelia Lisowski, the 11th of 14 children. He is survived by the love of his life, Lorraine, his wife of 59 years; his daughter, Lynda Webb and her husband Bruce; his son, David Lisowski and his wife Wendy; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grand- children plus one due in October; his brother Tom (Joan) Lisowski; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and great granddaughter, Isobel Grace. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, U.S. Army-Air Force, and U.S. Army. Over the years he served on Posts in Colorado, New Jersey, Germany, and Oklahoma. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He retired as a Sgt. First Class from the military in 1968 after 23 years of service. After retirement he worked at Buckley Air National Guard in the fire department and at Lowry Air Force Base as Fire Inspector until 1994. He enjoyed golf, bowling, traveling, the Broncos, country and Gospel music, but most of all - his family. He attended Faith Church and loved the Lord. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation Wednesday, August 20, 6-8 pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora. A Celebration of Herb's life will be Thursday, August 21, 10 am at Faith Church, 11373 E. Alameda Ave., Aurora. Interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 12:30 pm, Staging Area ""B"".
