Walker, Herbert Emil, 87, went to the Lord on May 7, 2010, in Thornton, Colorado. He was born October 13, 1922, in Kansas City, Kansas, and was the son of Nell Maxwell and Harold Wiley Walker. He was preceded in death by his three brothers Harold Maxwell Walker, Frank Charles Walker and Robert Hewit Walker. He attended Wyandotte High school where he played football. He was a member of the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1946. Through the GI Bill, he attended Kansas City Junior College and later attained a degree in business from the University of Denver. Leaving a long career with Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey he moved to Colorado in 1963, making his home in Evergreen for over 40 years. He was a loving husband to Marion V. Hadley for 64 years. Activities he enjoyed with his children included: sports, scouting, games, conversations about life, supporting their activities, week-end rides, and sightseeing. Herb served as an elder at the Church of the Hills in Evergreen. He was also a cat lover and his favorite cats included: Scooter, Cali, Winston and Jennifer. He is survived by his wife Marion of Thornton; his son Mark, of Scottsdale, AZ; his daughter Sally and youngest son Paul, from Arvada. Surviving, also, are 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Special thanks go to the staff of Sunny Acres and the Denver Hospice who took good care of him in his final years. His two favorite sayings were ""Do unto others as you would have done unto you"" and a quote from Benjamin Franklin, ""Search others for their virtues, yourself for your vices"". In lieu of flowers, the Walker family asks that a donation be made to Denver University or Church of the Hills in Evergreen, CO. A Committal Service with Air Force Honors for Herbert will be held on Friday, May 21, at 2 O'Clock in the afternoon at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area A. A Memorial Service for Herbert will be held on Saturday, May 22, at 1 O'Clock in the afternoon at Church of the Hills Presbyterian, 28628 Buffalo Park Road, Evergreen, Colorado 80439
