Holly Lowrey was proud to be born on the south-side of Chicago on October 5, 1957, landing her the nickname, ""Sputnik"". Her parents, Robert and Genevieve Mueller had their hands full with two boysâFred and Kurt Mueller and another daughter, Candace Schaid. Holly attended the University of Northern Illinois, and then graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she earned her master's degree in Community Health Education. In Albuquerque, she worked for The American Heart Association and Johnson & Johnson providing classes in employee wellness. At UNM, she met her husband, Keith. The two had their daughter, Piper, in 1989. In 1992, they moved to Colorado where their son, James, was born. The four lived a happy life together filled with travelling, card games, water skiing, and simply spending time together. Holly was nurturing, strong, and passionate. She loved to sew pillows to comfort others and made many for those who were dear to her. She will be greatly missed. Holly passed away on October 21, 2015. In her twenties, Holly fought Hodgkin's disease, followed by a series of other roadblocks. In the end, she had given so much of her heart to others, that she didn't have enough left for herself. Thankfully, we know she wouldn't have had it any other way. Holly is survived by her husband, Keith, daughter, Piper, son, James, two brothers, Fred (Nancy) and Kurt (Erica) Mueller, and her sister, Candace (Dave) Schaid. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:00pm at Greenwood Community Church, 5600 E. Belleview Avenue, Greenwood Village, Colorado, 80111. In lieu of flowers, Holly would have liked donations to be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association. Please share memories of Holly and condolences for her family in the guestbook below.
