Holly Lynn Smith Olson, 32, of Littleton, Colorado died Thursday, November 17, 2005 along with her newborn daughter, Anette Sue Olson. They passed away at Swedish Trauma Emergency Center. They are survived by her beloved husband and Anette's beloved father, Jeff A. Olson. Holly was born at St. Joseph's Hospital on February 2, 1973 to Donald and Sue Lenihan Smith of Denver, Colorado. Her father preceded her in death in February, 2000. She is survived by her beloved mother, Sue, and brother, Kevin Lenihan Smith. Holly was raised in Park Hill and attended Mountview Presbyterian Pre-School. She attended Park Hill Elementary School, Smiley Junior High and graduated in 1991 from East High School. Holly attended and graduated from Fort Lewis College in 1995, with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English and Communications. At Fort Lewis, she was a resident advisor for 3 years and resident director of her dormitory for 1 year. Holly was a gifted and talented woman. She attended the Mattie Springfield's school of dance for thirteen years. She was active in soccer and swam on the swim team. In the community she was a Red Cross Volunteer in junior high and senior high school and in recent years she was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Walk for the Cure. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross and was honored as youth volunteer of the year in a ceremony in March of 1990. Holly was also one of the first altar girls for Cure d'Ars Catholic Church. As a college student she interned at Channel 7-KMGH news. Holly worked on the assignment desk, helped in news gathering information and interned with the investigation reporting department. Following college, Holly worked in mortgage banking for nine years. She started as a receptionist moved to loan processing and then advance to becoming a mortgage specialist. Jeff and Holly met in Durango in February 1998, moved to Denver and were married in July 13, 2003. They made their home with their dog Sleet in Littleton Colorado. Part of their time together was spent tackling major home remodeling projects. Holly and Jeff also loved to travel both regionally and world wide. Holly especially enjoyed Ireland, and visiting Holly and Jeff's brother and-sister-in-law in Germany. Other destination in Europe and the Caribbean were also favorites. But no trip was better than the journeys to the family cabin at Berthoud Falls. Holly was a vibrant caring woman who others were privileged to know. Anette was a long awaited much-loved precious baby who will be with her mother in heaven. Other survivors include: Step-mother and husband Pat and Richard Ling. Surviving California relatives are Aunt Sally Craig and her seven children and fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren., Great Aunt Florence Harjadene, and the Smith family Aunt Carol and Aunt Bobbie and Elaine Hammond and other cousins. Along with these survivors: Father and mother-in-law John and Carol Olson of Longmont, brother-in-laws and their spouses: Reed and Anne Olson of Germany, Blake Olson , Greenwood Village and Brian and Shannan and nephew Jay and niece Lyndsey. Deceased brother'""in-law Barry Jay Olson. Other Olson relatives include: Irene Ellison and Gary Ellison of Longmont and numerous others.Visitation Tuesday, November 22, 2005, 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 So.
