A truly exceptional soul passed from this world on Sept 5, 2021. Born Hope Williams in the small town of Wood River, NE, she led a long and accomplished life.
Hope was a talented singer, actress and a truly gifted teacher. As a former student said, “There were no losers in Mrs. Wescoatt’s class. She breathed success and confidence into each and every one of us.” She touched so many lives in so many ways in her 102 years. She often said that the best gift was just To Be - to live, enjoy, learn and especially love. She took many companions with her on that journey.
Hope was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ivan “Pete” Wescoatt and by her three sisters: Berniece Williams, Precious Joy Anderson and Donna Ullman. She leaves her children, Leslie Randall (John) and Craig Wescoatt (Linda) and her granddaughters, Kenzie Helton (Jason) and Kiersten Simmons. She also leaves countless friends, former students and family members who will miss her dearly.
Hope lived a long life, blessedly free of pain. The family would like to thank the staff and people of The Aspen in Woodland Park for their exceptional care and love for Hope in her last years. We are grateful.
Family services will be held on Monday, Sept. 27th.
