Howard Badgett, 90, passed away suddenly at home on January 16, 2020.
Born July 31, 1929 in Ferris, TX, grew up in Dallas and moved to Denver in the late 50's shortly after being Honorably Discharged from the Army. Upon moving to Colorado, he worked as SheetMetal Specialist at Quickway Truck and Shovel company. From there he pursued various entrepreneurial ventures and ended up landing in the hospitality industry where he retired in 2000.
Survivors include his wife Robbie Badgett (Robertson), daughters Monica (Denver, CO) and Delores (Los Angeles, CA), sister Evelyn (Chicago, IL), and Maurice Badgett (Detroit, MI), and two grandchildren, Asha Gidden (Denver) and Amari Sands (Denver). He is preceded in death by his siblings, Henry, Helen, Theophilus, Clarence, Minnie, Rosie, Bernice, Velma and Nancy. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Howard had a passion for people, jazz, family and golf. He never met a stranger but, ""...just had friends I don't know yet."" He was an amazing golfer of over 62 years of experience and expertise, and never had a problem sharing his love of the sport with young people in his community or with young family members. He believed, ""If you treat people well, you never have to look over your shoulder."" He lived this principle out to the fullest.
