Howard R. St. Cyr

Howard, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on September 4, 2015. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marjorie; daughter, Jackie and her husband Harold Yutzy; son, Bob St. Cyr and his wife Barb; 5 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack St. Cyr and his wife Helen who reside in Columbus, Ohio. A memorial service honoring Howard will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Applewood Valley United Methodist Church located at 2035 Ellis Street, Golden, Colorado. There will be a committal service on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. Please gather at staging area ""A"" by 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard's name may be made to Applewood Valley United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2035 Ellis Street, Golden, Colorado 80401. He was born in Hubbard, Ohio on November 9, 1926, and attended Lakewood High School in Cleveland. After serving in the USAF, he attended Purdue University, completing his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1958 at Marquette University in Wisconsin. After working at Cutler-Hammer for 20 years in Wisconsin, he and his family were transferred to Colorado moving to the Applewood neighborhood, in 1968. Not long after the transfer, he obtained his Real Estate Broker's License and practiced real estate for 20 years with several companies including New West Realtors which he owned. His hobbies included golf (He was a member of the Applewood Golf Club), square dancing (Denver Area Square an Round Dance Club Co-President 1971-1972), bird hunting (enjoying 5 generations of German Shorthair Pointers), and fishing (using his own hand-made lures). In addition, he was a member of the Applewood Optimist Club and the Applewood Valley United Methodist Church.
