Howard W. Hanson

Hanson, Howard W. of Wheat Ridge passed away January 12, 2016. Howard was born in Faribault, Minnesota on January 19, 1930 to Ernestine and Antone Hanson. Howard was preceded in death by one sister, Harriet; and one nephew, Tommy. Howard is survived by his wife of 49 and ¾ years – Karen Hanson (Reininger); two daughters: Tamara (Ken) Borden and Karla (Scott) Sullivan; three grandchildren: Darcy Borden, Jeffrey Borden and Katie Jo Sullivan, all of Colorado and a nephew, Clark Spiller of New Mexico and niece, Sandal Spiller of Phoenix, Arizona. Howard spent his years driving. His skill and passion ranged from forklifts to semi-tractors to Army Jeeps and to chauffeuring his beloved wife ""across the world."" An artist at heart, Howard painted and also sang at senior centers. A visitation will be held on January 20, 2016 beginning at 11:00 AM, at Abundant Grace Fellowship, 4535 Wadsworth Blvd, Wheat Ridge, 80033 followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM with reception afterward. He will be buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery – Staging Area ""A,"" 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, CO promptly at 3:00 PM. All family and friends are welcome to attend any and all of the three events. In lieu of flowers we ask that remembrances be made to Abundant Grace Fellowship.
