Lt. Colonel Howard Ritchie, USAF (Retired) of Littleton Colorado, passed away on 23 April 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born and raised near Hazard Kentucky where he graduated valedictorian. He received his masters in Electrical Engineering at University of Wyoming. He served his country for 23 years in the Air Force, followed by successful careers with Lockheed Martin (Martin Marietta) and Raytheon, where he acquired many accolades and much recognition. Howard loved to climb the hills of Kentucky and the mountains of Colorado. He will always be remembered as a humble and brilliant man who loved his family. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife Bette of 58 years, his children Robert (wife Phyllis), Gena (husband Lee), Michael (wife Ronette) and Lori (husband Michael), grandchildren Kailey, Bryce, Kassidy and Jenae and his sisters Donice, Jeanne and Cleta. He is preceded in death by his son David and brother Clyde. A service will be held on Friday, 2 May 2014 at 12 noon at Horan and McConaty located at 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood Colorado, then to Fort Logan National Cemetary.
