Ida Hopper

January 9, 1930 — January 26, 2025

Mrs. Ida May Hopper (Musgrove), 95, passed away on January 26, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Born on January 9, 1930, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ida grew up with a strong sense of family and resilience. She graduated from Wheatridge High School in 1948 where she was known as “never idle a moment”. She participated in Band, Pep club, Annual, Junior and Senior play, Aid to Europe Chairman, and Girls club. Ida went on to build a life filled with love, adventure, and creativity.

Ida was a devoted wife and mother, raising four children while providing a stable home despite the many moves her family made, including time spent overseas. She embraced each new place with grace and ensured that her family always had a warm and welcoming environment.

A passionate sports fan, Ida loved playing games of all kinds. She participated in bowling leagues where she won trophies for her skill and dedication. She was also an enthusiastic bridge player and enjoyed cribbage matches with her family. Her love for puzzles kept her mind sharp as she was always working on a new one.

Ida found joy in creativity, making jewelry, picture frames, crocheting, and crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic spirit. She also cherished time spent outdoors with her husband Eric and their family, enjoying fishing trips and picnic lunches in the mountains—moments that became treasured memories for those who shared them with her.

Ida’s family includes Karin Schnell (husband Rick Schnell) Mark Hopper (wife Linda Hopper), Mya Heston (husband Joe Heston). Ken Hopper, son (deceased), first wife Ewa Hjelm and second wife Kirsti Hopper. Nine grandchildren Melissa Schnell Gaister and husband Leo, Dana Schnell, Halee Hopper Anderson and husband Michael, Lisa Hopper Quintana and husband Justin, Russell Lloyd and wife Elena, Evan Hopper and wife Elisa, Elias Hopper and Anna Hagg, Adam Hopper, and Marcus Hopper.
