Ida Mae Wheeler, 96, passed away March 17, 2010 in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born December 30, 1913, in Tupelo, Mississippi to Andrew Johnson Albertson and Ida Clark Albertson. Ida was one of seven children. She married Bruce Wilkinson Wheeler and they had two sons. Ida served her family and her community as a Registered Nurse in Miami, Florida until her retirement from the University of Miami Health Center. Ida played the violin in a Blue Grass Group with her husband Bruce, after they retired. She is survived by two sons, Richard B. (Marge) Wheeler and Clark W. (Rosemary) Wheeler; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Nettie) Wheeler, Wendy (Michael) Foss, Thomas (Gina) Wheeler, Stephany (Terry) Priola, Richard (Julie) Wheeler, Robert (Claudia) Wheeler, Rebecca (Cameron) Morris, Elizabeth (Bruce) Paulin; 43 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. Ida Mae was the sole survivor of her six brothers & sisters. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruce. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20th, 2:00pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9227 West Dartmouth Place, Lakewood, Colorado. Ida will be buried next to her husband in the Forest Meadows Cemetery (East) in Gainesville, Florida.
