Ileen E. Wagner

Ileen E. Wagner passed away 2/25/2017. She was predeceased by her husband John. She is survived by three children, Jacqueline, Bruce, Phyllis, and one grandson Adam, plus two step grandsons Taylor and Erik. She is also survived by her two sisters Laura Semmler, who lives in Armour, South Dakota, and Ann Quist who lives in Bettendorf Iowa. She has one surviving sister-in-law, Donna Wagner living in Topanga Canyon, California. Ileen was born March 18, 1927 and raised near Delmont, South Dakota. She graduated from Armour High School and received a diploma from Mitchell Business College. She worked for the City of Mitchell for 19 months. In November 1947, she moved to Dayton, Ohio and worked for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for four and one-half years. In 1952 she transferred to the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center in Denver, Colorado where she completed 38 years of civil service and retired December 31, 1988. Ileen met and married John Wagner on January 9, 1955 and had 3 children. She was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association since 1989. She stayed in contact with former coworkers and was active with the AFAFC Retirees organization. Ileen loved bowling and bowled with the office bowling league for many years. She and John enjoyed travel and made a number of trips to Europe, Scotland and Ireland, and numerous travels in the U.S. Memorial Service, Sat. 3/18, 1PM, Messiah Community Church, 1750 Colorado Blvd. Denver, CO 80220. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Messiah Community Church.
