Ima Hanks

Ima L. Hanks was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 19, 2012 at age 86. Ima L. Schulz was born October 23, 1925 to Henry and Albertine ""Tena"" (Schafer) Schulz in Cedar County, Iowa. She married Chester V. Hanks on December 19, 1948. Ima enjoyed dancing and baking as well as her infamous yodeling. She was always known for her smile and her love for family. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Ray Henry Schulz, brother Alvin C. Schulz(Tulsa, OK), twin sister Irma L. Henkel (New Liberty, IA), sister Mae C.M. Flenker (Davenport, IA) and her husband. A viewing was held March 24, 2012 at Horan & McConaty in Thornton. There will be a Memorial Service in Durant, Iowa on June 10, 2012 at 2pm, at Bentley Funeral Home, 1001 6th Street. Friends and family are welcome. A Committal Service will follow at the Durant Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Rich Martin, Wade Fink, Mel Flenker, Jr., Konrad Henkel, Kent Henkel, Dale Hansen, Paul Blumer and Scott Stark, as per her wishes.
