Iris Lavonne Blancett

March 31, 1932 — July 9, 2014

Iris Lavonne Blancett was born in 1932 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the youngest child and only daughter of Floyd and Virginia Ferguson. She was raised on a farm outside of Ponca City and attended the University of Oklahoma where she met and married Kenneth S. Blancett. They lived in Oklahoma, Texas, and Canada before moving to the Denver area in 1974. Iris enjoyed world traveling with her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and longtime member of the Denver Orchid Society. She also volunteered at the Colorado Historical Museum for many years and was a member of Littleton United Methodist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Iris is survived by her sons Craig, John, Kevin and Scott, daughter Sara, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as two brothers, Robert and Gail. Funeral Service will be Monday, July 14, 11:30 AM, Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S. Datura St., Littleton 80120. Memorial donations are suggested to Littleton United Methodist Church.
