Iris M. Douglass

August 3, 1932 — March 26, 2015

Iris Marie Douglass passed away at her home on March 26, 2015 at the age of 82. She was born on August 3, 1932 in Vona, CO to David and Ruth (Maag) Seaman and preceded in death by both parents and loving husband H.C., also by sisters Bonnie Ann Seaman, Emma Lee Stewart and brother David Wayne Seaman. Iris is survived by her devoted son David, daughter-in-law Terry and lovingly remembered by grandsons and their families; Grandson Chris, wife Amy and great grandchildren Caleb and Rylee; Grandson Curt, wife Cherie and great grandchildren Cole and Belle. Also survived by her sister Irene Noyes and brothers Dwayne Seaman and Bob Seaman ~ she leaves behind numerous loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. As a 1950 graduate of Greeley High School in Greeley, Colorado she had plans to celebrate her 65th high school reunion with classmates this coming summer. She was an accomplished woman, known as a hard worker who established a career in retail at a very young age, and later in life began a second career in real estate. Her energetic and active personality combined with an excellent work ethic and dedication was evident to all who worked with and for her. Her faith in God, strong will and positive attitude allowed her to see the best in all circumstances, evidenced by her example of fortitude and strength as a breast cancer survivor. Family and friends were Iris's passion and delight. Her generous heart was overwhelming; she loved perfecting her family's famous Angel Food cake recipe for all to enjoy. This exquisite creation is a great deal like our Iris ~ angel food cake was so named because of its airy lightness that was said to be the ""food of the angels"". Iris now resides with the heavenly angels praising Our Lord; she will forever remain in our hearts. Her presence we miss - Her memory we treasure - Loving her always - Forgetting her never – In lieu of flowers, memory donations may be made to Northwest Church of Christ – Haiti Mission Program at 5255 West 98th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80020
