Irma Ann sartor was born to Silvio and Mary sartor November 6, 1918. Both her parents were born in Italy, she was proud of her Italian heritage. Silvio missed his boat to come to the USA, and that is fortunate as the ship was the Titanic. He had contracted with a man in ? Saint Louis to work for his passage. Silvio then made enough money to send for Mary. Mary's mother had died when Mary was young, and as the oldest daughter she was expected to take over the mother's duties. Silvio had other plans for her. Mary came to the united states with relatives including Primo Sartor and Ann Rescoe's mother. Irma was born in Denver, and spoke only Italian until she went to school. She performed many errands for her next door neighbors, the Lambies, and was extended family to them. As an immigrant family and due to the times money was very short. She had a sister, Florence, and a brother Albert. After school, she worked in a bank and met H A Dill. They had two sons, Alan and Bob. She was an incredible mother to them. They may not have had huge wardrobes, but she made sure they were cleaned and polished every day before school. She carefully ironed their clothing. Irma was grandmother to three daughters of her son Bob. And what a grandmother she was! Jennifer, Kelly, and Katie were lovingly spoiled by her. She delighted in every detail of their lives and made sure they were familiar with her beloved Italy. Irma continued her interest in Italy by taking Italian language classes, and loved traveling back to Italy may times. She has family in Italy, including Vanda and Luigi Vassaleer. She had many close friends, including the Reiffs who were considered family, and Jeanenne Allen
