Isabel Schmidt, 77 years old, leaves behind her heartbroken husband of 25 years, John, cousin Angie (Carl) Magnuson, niece Michelle (Paul) Alfonso, great niece Alexa, and step children Donna and John (Jenny) Schmidt and grand step children JD and Steven Schmidt. Isabel loved to read and learn. Isabel started her career as a draft person at Automatic Switch Company (ASCO) where she eventually met John. At age 35, to satisfy her craving to learn, she started Pharmacy school. Completing her degree and beginning her new career, she continued to challenge herself and pursued a Masters Degree in Business. This eventually lead to her achieving the role of Pharmacy Manager at King Sooper until her retirement.
After her retirement, Isabel’s devotion to John lead her to assist him in his business by acting as secretary, personal assistant, office manager and all around “Girl Friday”! John may have been the brains of Power Control Products, but Isabel was the entire rest of the body!
Isabel was born in Cuba and migrated to America as a young teenager. She loved this country and was so proud to be a US citizen. She was engaged in modern politics and stayed very connected to current events. She came from a large extended family and had many cousins. Her cousin Angie was like a sister to her and they share many wonderful memories.
Isabel was a devoted wife and friend to many, creating close friendships in her Genessee neighborhood of 17 years. As her family, we are so grateful for her life, her kindness and generosity. She was the consummate hostess. We are certain she is still serving someone, somewhere, because she just couldn’t help herself. Thanks for the memories Isabel – you were such a blessing to us all!!
A letter from John:
To my beautiful wife, Isabel,
Thank you God for blessing me with your intimate love and devotion. No man has ever been as fortunate as myself. Why, did you Isabel, choose me as your Partner and Soulmate to share life’s wonderful experiences and support me when I needed you most. Your dedication to me as your husband was sincere and with selflessness first and above anything in your life. No one will experience a more sincere woman’s love – you were every man’s dream.
You always showed your love for me and valued my being above and beyond yours. Sacrifice was not a word but a way of life from you to me.
Please know that I was so proud of your accomplishments as you pursued your dreams.
Your love of family and friends were boundless as all felt your caring, love and empathy.
Rest in peace my Precious Wife. Please know that I will be following you shortly so that we can once again hold hands as we were always meant to do.
Love, John
