Isabelle Audrey Seery

April 16, 1924 — February 2, 2015

Isabelle A. Seery, 90, a lifetime resident of St. Ignatius passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 in Lakewood, CO, surrounded by loving family members. Isabelle was the fourth of seven children, born April 16, 1924, in St. Ignatius to Gustav and Bertha Pinsoneault. She was raised on the family farm and educated in St. Ignatius. After graduating from high school in 1942, and suffering the tragic loss of her older brother, Gus, serving in World War II, she enlisted in the Marine Corps in February 1945. She returned to St. Ignatius after the war ended, and in 1949 married her high school sweetheart, Dan Seery. Life partners for over 60 years, they raised four children and a foster son, and owned and operated the Malt Shop in St. Ignatius for 50 years. In addition to parenting and owning a business, Isabelle worked full time at the Flathead Irrigation Project, then served as secretary at St Ignatius High School until she retired. A devout Catholic, Isabelle was a vital member of the St. Ignatius Mission Parish, volunteering for the Catholic Ladies Guild and supporting the Villa Ursula Catholic School. She participated actively in the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Ignatius Senior Center, and supported many community events. She enjoyed weekend and holiday gatherings at the Pinsoneault family ranch, and monthly bridge club socials with close friends. She and Dan loved spending time with their children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. She loved keeping up with local and national news events, cheering for favorite sports teams, and doing crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Dan; brothers Gus, Jack, and Dick; sisters Thelma and Jean; and an infant son Daniel Patrick, Jr. She is survived by children Danielle (Tim) Smith of San Diego, CA; David (Diane) Seery of Golden, CO; Debbie (John) Maher of Tempe, AZ; Denise Seery of Lakewood, CO; and foster son Tony Miller Seery of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Kyle and Shannon Seery, David Smith, Danny and Katie Maher; brother James (Madeline) Pinsoneault of Edmonds, WA; sisters-in-law, Mary Pinsoneault of Navarre, FL; Patsy Seery of Missoula, MT; and Alice Seery of San Clemente, CA, as well as her large extended family. A Rosary/prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10, at St. Ignatius Catholic Mission with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be provided by the Mission Valley Honor Guard, American Legion Post 106. The Catholic Ladies Guild will host a reception in the church basement. Cremation is under the direction of Horan and McConaty Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado. A family ceremony will be held for the inurnment on her mother's grave at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Missoula, MT. Memorials may be made to the St. Ignatius Mission Preservation Fund or any charity of donor's choice.
