Ita C. Moriarty

Ita C. Moriarty passed away at her home in Denver, Colorado, on March 29, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, her husband and stepchildren were at her side. Ita was born in County Kerry, Ireland, on January 12, 1947. She loved her native Ireland, but her heart and true love was in Colorado. Her husband, Jerry Davis, of Denver; three stepchildren, Renné Ball of Conifer, Colo.; Scott Davis of Arvada, Colo.; and Cheryl Davis of Henderson, Colo.; and eight grandchildren survive Ita. Additionally, Ita leaves behind a brother, Brendan Manca, of Cape Town, South Africa; 11 cousins in Ireland; and nine cousins residing in the United States. Ita was a native Irish speaker and taught for several years in Ireland at the catholic school where her uncle was headmaster. She moved to the United States in 1973, and spent many years working at various restaurants in the Denver area, her last employment was at 1515 Market Street Restaurant, Denver. In her leisure time, Ita enjoyed gardening, visiting nurseries to shop for new plants, and spending time with family. All who had the pleasure of meeting her and gaining her wisdom loved Ita. A Funeral Mass is planned for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, at Mother of God Catholic Parish, 475 Logan St., Denver, Colorado; with reception to follow at the 1515 Market Street Restaurant, 1515 Market St., Denver, CO. Ita's interment will be in Ireland. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Mother of God Catholic Parish, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa, OK., or The American Cancer Society.
