J. David Huskin, died October 12, 2008. He was 73 years old. A native Coloradoan, born in Pueblo, lived in the Denver area since 1955. At one time he was commended by Pres. Harry S. Truman for being one of the youngest to reach the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1957 and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Following graduation from college, he served in the U.S. Army. He was active in real estate brokerage, investments and development. At one time he was a dean instructor for the Realtors National Marketing Association, teaching investment real estate exchanging and taxation. He had written several textbooks and article on the subject and lectured in many universities and colleges across the country. He was elected to the Colorado State Board of Education in 1980 and served as vice chairman during some of his tenure. He was active in Republican Party affairs. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; four children, Joy Wilson, J. David ii, Jill Burkhardt, and Julia Richter; and ten grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be said Thursday, October 16, 2008, 10:30 AM, at St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church, 1400 S. University Blvd., where he was a long-time Communicant. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michaels Discretionary Fund or the J.J. Johnston Scholarship Fund at the Univ. of Denver.
