Joseph Douglas McCluskie March 1, 1923 â November 1, 2016 Doug was born in Northville, Michigan to Joseph Smith and Florence (Sutherland) McCluskie. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1946 from Michigan State University and eventually went on to get his Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan in 1957. He married his ""Pug"", Dorothy Jane Bogart in 1946. He spent several years as a Veterinarian with the Detroit Health Department. Tapped for Chief of the Denver office of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, he and Dorothy relocated to Colorado. He went on to serve as Asst. Chief of the Veterinary Public Health Services for the City and County of Denver and eventually was appointed as the Director of Environmental Health Services for Denver Public Health. He was president of the Colorado Public Health Association and served as chairman of the civil Defense Committee for the Denver area society. Never far from the links, Doug was a proud Scotsman who loved playing and watching the game of golf. He is survived by his three children and their families â Craig, Jody and Jamie. His family is blessed to know that ""All is Well"" now that he is joined with the love of his life, Dorothy Jane.
